WHO WE ARE
MISSION
Inner City Harvest Community Development Corporation is a faith based organization that reaches out to inner city families who are facing adversity. Inner City Harvest (ICH) provides a wide variety of educational programs, support services, and activities that employer people to establish goals, achieve success, develop leadership skills and becoming responsible citizens.
WHAT WE DO
CAREER DEVELOPMENT TRAINING
Unemployed and under-employed individuals receive career development training to enable them to find and retain full-tim employment to support themselves and their families. Workshops are given to help job seekers enhance their resumes, interview skills, and appearance in order to maximize their success for job placement.
CHALLENGE PROGRAM
Challenge is a ministry that provides education on the prevention of diseases and imparts the empowerment to live for people of color who are challenged with Alzheimer's, Cancer, Diabetes, Heart Disease, HIV/AIDS, Hypertension, sexually transmitted diseases, and Sickle Cell. Challenge offers educational services, individual, family and grief counseling, seminars, workshop, forums, panel discussions, confidential consultation and creative education.
OUTSIDE TOUCHES
Outside Touches offers encouragement and addresses the spiritual needs of those incarcerated through prayer, visitation, and correspondence. We also provide assistance to families of inmates through counseling and referrals to social agencies for legal assistance.
RAVEN'S NEST
Raven's Nest provides emergency assistance through donations of food and clothing to low income individuals and families. Monetary assistance for utilities and rent is occasionally provided as well as referrals to social service agencies.
YOUTH PROGRAMS
The Youth Program focuses on the social development of youth by providing leadership and academic skills, mentoring and coaching and establishing healthy relationships. The Youth Program also seeks to promote youth participants talents, ideas and healthy choices through a variety of youth focused activities (e.g. First Saturdays, Back to School Workshops, character education, school supplies drives, anger management, anti-valence programs, arts programs and travel opportunities (Memphis, Chicago).
